City Plumbing and PTS, part of the Plumbing and Heating Division of Travis Perkins based in Northampton, scooped the Fleet Van Operator of The Year award at the prestigious 2019 Motor Transport Awards, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
The ceremony was hosted by TV presenter Claudia Winkleman with the award given to the City Plumbing and PTS Team by comedian Omid Djalili.
City Plumbing and PTS beat competition from the likes of Ocado and Scottish Water to win the award which celebrates organisations that are achieving outstanding standards of performance in productivity and efficiency, on time quality deliveries and who promote safe driving through effective training and apprenticeship schemes.
This means that the award was won for ensuring our roads are safer by having professional well trained, more considerate drivers that are able to deliver customer orders which arrive safely, on time and in great condition.
The award was given to Richard Horton, head of fleet at City Plumbing and PTS. Richard stated: “It is an honour to accept this award on behalf of all of our colleagues and our drivers across our 370 branches. Our business is about ensuring our customers are happy and we do this by being a safe and legal operator with systems that allow us to give excellent customer service.
“We are a business famous for our customer service. We operate almost 700 vehicles across our branch network and managing those is a huge challenge. We take extra care so that our customers are happy and other road users are as safe as possible. You’re in safe hands with City Plumbing and PTS.”
