Hattie Hasan has been made an MBE for services to women in the heating and plumbing industry in the New Year’s Honours List 2020.
The former primary school teacher founded the Stopcocks network of female plumbers. She has now committed 29 years to the sector, including missions to create sustainable rainwater harvesting systems in Africa.
Hattie founded Stopcocks in 1990 to showcase excellent women plumbers and heating engineers. In March 2017 Stopcocks Women Plumbers launched as a national franchise to increase the numbers of women plumbers. The organisation also provides training in customer service, system design and fault diagnosis.
