Keighley-based plumbers merchants Richard Craven, which re-branded as Tap-in Supplies at the end of 2019, has launched a new online store in a bid to bring the business into the digital age amid the coronavirus crisis.
Plumbers and direct customers can now browse and order supplies online for either delivery or collection, it announced. Tap-in’s 4,500 square foot warehouse and trade counter on Great Northern Road in Keighley also remains open for key worker plumbers.
Director Matthew Richards said: “When I set up the company in 1995, I had limited knowledge of the plumbing industry. Since then, we’ve built it into a well-established and trusted business, but we knew the world around us was changing and that to continue this successful growth we would have to modernise, hence the new branding and online offering. The coronavirus pandemic has made this even more relevant to us and our customers with many struggling to get hold of supplies for essential works quickly and safely.
“Our aim is to offer the convenience, choice and price competitiveness of national retailers, but with the reliability, quality, expertise, service and aftercare of a local, independent, experienced plumbers merchants. We make it easy to ‘tap-in’ to the best quality, most fit-for-purpose products featuring the latest technology in one place with fast free local delivery or ‘tap and collect’. We also deliver further afield to those that cannot get hold of the right supplies in their area. We hope it appeals to our existing customers as well as the next generation of plumbers.”
Customers can set up and use trade accounts on the website or purchase and pay for one-off items online. Tap-in has also created a WhatsApp community of professional plumbers who share tips and advice on what products to use and how to apply them.
