WRAS (Water Regulations Approval Scheme) has extended its scope of recognition for SKZ, the global laboratory testing provider, adding taps and most types of valves to SKZ’s existing WRAS recognition for pipes and fittings testing.
As a WRAS recognised test laboratory with an extended scope, SKZ can now offer its customers testing services from a single source, saving time and reducing testing costs.
Ian Hughes, approvals manager for WRAS, said: “Sixty-two per cent of trade buyers say they would pay a premium for a plumbing product that had a WRAS approval, which brings clear commercial opportunities for manufacturers and retailers.
“With that in mind, WRAS is committed to making testing as accessible and speedy as possible for manufacturers. Extending the scope of SKZ is another step on that ongoing journey.”
Tobias Bauer, group manager project management PPC at SKZ, added: “It is important to have products tested and certified by independent bodies to ensure a consistently high level of quality, which is particularly important for drinking water.
“WRAS is a well-known and established certification body for plumbing products and materials in various countries and SKZ is pleased to be recognised by WRAS as a test laboratory to enable our customers to obtain WRAS approvals.”
