The Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) has published its 2023 programme of online courses including Legionella Cold Water Risk Assessment & Disinfection, Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems (Unvented) and Sanitary & Above Ground Drainage.
APHC has worked with training provider BPEC in order to ensure that training and assessments can be delivered remotely. The 2023 programme of courses are delivered using Microsoft Teams so delegates can use a PC or laptop device to log on and complete their training over two hours per day for up to four days. Once the initial training course is complete, delegates are then set to take an online assessment to obtain a course completion certificate.
Representatives said that the courses are for experienced plumbers who ideally hold a relevant NVQ Level 2 or have equivalent practical experience of plumbing and the water industry.
In addition to the courses, APHC is again giving away 100 training rewards worth £150 each to plumbing and heating companies throughout 2023.
Plumbing and heating companies can claim a £150 reward and use it towards the cost of a certificated course with a recognised training provider such as APHC, BPEC, City & Guilds and all UKAS-approved ACS providers. The reward is available to all plumbing and heating companies in England and Wales regardless of whether they are members of APHC.
Graeme Dryden, deputy CEO and technical services manager at the APHC, said: “Keeping up-to-date and developing existing skills is important to help ensure you are working compliantly and safely. Our courses can not only help with this, but also help plumbers gain skills to access new markets such as legionella risk assessing.”
John Thompson, APHC’s CEO, added: “Keeping up-to-date and developing existing skills is important to help ensure you are working compliantly and safely.”
