City Plumbing has hired Dominic Sarkar as its commercial director.
Dominic has over 20 years of experience in product and category management, the last seven of which were within the merchant sector.
As statement said that Dominic aims to continue the drive forward for new product development and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the commercial team, working closely with sales and trading colleagues.
Dominic said: “What attracted me to this role is City Plumbing, and the wider Highbourne Group’s desire to never stand still. I share that passion to excel and be future-thinking and there’s huge potential to build on the company’s already strong foundations.
“What’s unique about the business is that its ambition is also combined with a focus on people – customers, colleagues and supplier partners – and I’ve witnessed first-hand the personable and approachable culture of the business as I’ve started my role. There’s a true desire to work together for the good of the customer.”
City Plumbing said that Dominic joins the company at a critical moment for energy efficiency following a rise in the UK-wide Energy Cap at the start of January and the Consultation period for the Future Homes and Buildings Standards live until March 2024.
He added: “One of my key priorities will also be to support further growth of our well-established Renewables division and help our customers, and theirs, to navigate the changing landscape of lower-temperature heating systems, and embrace the potential this brings.”
Adam Foy, chief commercial officer at City Plumbing, said: “Dominic joining is a real coup for our business as he brings a wealth of experience and shares our mindset on the importance of innovation and customer-first thinking. He too is a huge champion for inclusivity and working as one team – a core value of City Plumbing.”
