The Gas Safe Register’s annual Gas Safety Week, which takes place from 9 to 15 September 2024, has gathered momentum this week.
The Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom and the annual week is dedicated to raising awareness of gas safety to help the nation stay safe.
The theme for this year is ‘Checking – Every Check Counts’. The Gas Safe Register said the theme emphasises the importance of regular gas safety checks. This theme can be applied in multiple ways for example, checking an engineer’s Gas Safe ID card, checking in on loved ones and checking that CO alarms are working.
The Gas Safe Register has also released a ‘tongue-in-cheek’ video with a heartfelt message to mark the annual event. The registration body added that the film highlights the inconvenience that a broken gas appliance can have on daily life and aims to remind consumers why regular gas checks are so important. The video is available to watch on the Gas Safe Register’s website.
