Plumbing group Newsome has raised over £6,000 for two local charities by completing the Calderdale Way 52 Mile Walking Challenge on June 14 and 15, 2024.
A team of participants undertook the challenge, covering the 52-mile route with a total ascent of over 9,000ft.
The event raised £6,643.40, which will be shared equally between Overgate Hospice in Elland and Andy’s Man Club.
According to a company statement, the funds donated to Overgate Hospice will provide critical care and support to individuals facing end-of-life challenges, as well as their families, offering essential resources during difficult times. The statement added that contributions to Andy’s Man Club will support the charity’s mission to combat the stigma surrounding men’s mental health by providing free, peer-to-peer support groups across the UK and online, creating safe spaces for men to speak openly and find strength through conversation.
