Resideo

The Honeywell Home DT4 thermostat from Resideo, a leading global provider of solutions for home comfort, energy management and security, has been recognised by an international jury for the outstanding quality and design of the product.

The Red Dot Design Award has been running for nearly 70 years and seeks to evaluate and recognise the best designs of the time. This year, the DT4 secured the prestigious Product Design 2024 award.

Luke Cairns, European Product Management Leader at Resideo, said: “Resideo is committed to providing professional installers across Europe with innovative solutions that help optimise energy efficiency and deliver comfortable indoor air quality. During the product development process for the DT4, we spent time with installers across Europe to ensure our offering would have a positive impact on their installation and application requirements – and it would address the energy efficiency challenges their customers are facing. To have the product’s design internationally recognized is a wonderful bonus.”

The key product features that make the award-winning product the smart choice for installers include:

  • Designed for compatibility:
  • Works with a range of boilers, zone valves, solid fuel heaters and electric boilers.
  • Works with a range of greener energy systems, including heat pumps and underfloor heater.
  • Backwards compatible with existing Honeywell Home wireless thermostats such as BDR91A and others.
  • Wireless and Opentherm options work seamlessly with Resideo’s popular Honeywell Home evohome and new Honeywell Home HCC100 Underfloor Multi-Zone Controller.
  • Opentherm Smart Power Option minimises future maintenance as no requirement for batteries.
  • Suitable for heating and cooling applications.
  • One thermostat, multiple options:
  • Suitable for wired or Honeywell Home wireless communication.
  • Options for time proportional (TPI) or modulating appliance control.
  • Designed for installers:
  • Ease of installation and QR code supported videos.
  • Peace of mind with five-year warranty as standard2.
  • Ease of use:
  • ECO & Boost functions help maintain comfort. Users can alter the temperature either -3 or +3 for a set period to either boost the heating systems during cold spells or drop the temperature for a few hours.
  • Suits different home decors with three colour options.

The DT4 thermostat range is manufactured at Resideo’s Newhouse site in Scotland, UK. Carol Ann Easton, Newhouse Site Leader, added her thoughts on the achievement: “The award has created real excitement among the manufacturing colleagues in our factory. Our colleagues work hard every day to deliver for customers across Europe, so knowing they have played a part in the delivery of a product recognised for its design quality is very rewarding.”
