Boiler manufacturer, Baxi, has announced a new partnership with Nest. The partnership will see Baxi incorporate Nest product training into its free one-day boiler training courses and make the Nest Learning Thermostat, available to both its installer network and customers.
Baxi is committed to promoting the use of controls alongside energy efficient boilers, and believes there is growing demand for advanced home technology. The Nest Learning Thermostat takes away the hassle of programming. It is simply turned up and down like a manual thermostat for about a week, and then Nest will create a personalised schedule that is refined over time. With its built-in sensors, it knows when no one is home, so Nest’s Auto-Away feature can automatically turn down the temperature, helping to save even more energy. The temperature can be controlled from a smartphone, tablet or computer.
Andrew Keating, marketing director at Baxi, said: “Baxi is committed to ensuring that our products and services make our customers’ lives easier. So, working with Nest, a company that is leading the way in home technologies and is making energy efficiency simpler for homeowners, was a very clear choice for us.
“Baxi training centres across the UK will offer Nest product training, so installers will have the chance to get hands-on training to become a Nest Pro as part of their free Baxi one-day boiler training courses.”
Lionel Paillet, general manager of Europe at Nest Labs, said: “Nest products aren’t just smart – they actually learn, adjusting to the homeowner’s habits and preferences automatically – so the Nest Learning Thermostat does all the hard work. This makes controlling energy simple for the homeowner, while keeping the consumer in control and informed – which really dovetails with Baxi’s strategy to make installers’ and homeowners’ lives easier. We are looking forward to working with Baxi to bring Nest products to more people.”
