Steve Harris is a fully qualified plumber and heating engineer with almost 30 years experience in the industry. Steve has now clocked up more than ten years experience working for Wavin (formally Hepworth), so he is the perfect candidate to answer all your Plumbing questions – no matter how big or small.
Nicknamed ‘Gripper Harris’ by his peers due to his technical know-how and devilish plumber’s grip, Steve currently works as a Technical Services Engineer for Wavin. Predominately now involved with Underfloor Heating (UFH), Steve deals with many of the technical calls Wavin receives from architects, engineers and plumbers, whilst also donning his ‘agony uncle’ hat to answer technical queries from the general public.
‘Gripper Harris’ also visits installers on site to help them with problem solving, particularly with UFH technical support and the vast Hep2O® range of products. Primarily responsible for the training of internal staff and external customers learning about Hep2O® and UFH, Steve is also a key figure at plumbing exhibitions, where he is always on hand with expert advice.
Steve has worked on thousands of projects including large scale ones such as; Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, Powergen Technology labs, The Nottingham Theater Royal, and Ministry of Defense Sites (MOD) throughout the country, right through to more domestic projects on thousands of homes with a wide range of installations from bathroom suites to full central heating and UFH systems.
One of his highlights was the complete plumbing of the hot, cold and central heating of a 40 bedroom nursing home virtually on his own, a project which took nearly 6 months.
