The heating and plumbing industry is being celebrated across the country, as the inaugural Heating Installer of the Year Awards 2016 has announced its regional winners. The eight finalists will now be put forward into the national heat, the winner of which will be determined by an online public vote.
The regional winners have been announced as follows:
North – Dennis Hollingworth, Hollingworth Heating
East of England – Mark Partridge, Bright Green Renewables
Midlands – Daniel Sabin, Dan Sabin Heating and Plumbing
South East – Ian Dickson, Dickson’s Heating Engineers
South West – Matt Bird, Devon Heating Services
Wales – Garry Lloyd, Blue Flame Gas Solutions
Scotland – Douglas Hill, Heatsource Plumbing and Heating Ltd
Northern Ireland – Connaire McGreevy, CTS Projects Ltd
A panel of industry experts met earlier this month to judge all the entries submitted to the awards scheme, which recognises the outstanding and essential work completed by experts across the UK. Facing stiff competition from an array of heating installers based in each region, the winners were selected after wowing judges with examples of exceptional professionalism, happy customers and instances of going above and beyond the call of duty.
Judge, Chris Ingram from Continental Underfloor, said: “The calibre of entries in the first year of the awards scheme has been exceptional. We already know that the industry is filled with tradesmen and women who work relentlessly to deliver the best quality jobs combined with excellent customer service – but seeing these entries proves what a special industry it really is.
“These winning, regional entries simply blew us away with their levels of professionalism, ability to undertake such complex installations and truly make a difference to their customers’ lives – whether that’s through cost savings or providing added comfort and warmth in the home. I can only thank them for setting such a high standard in the industry. I urge heating installers across the country to take advantage of the opportunity to shout about everything that’s great about your business, when we launch the 2017 awards later this year.”
The judging panel consisted of Chris Ingram, managing director of headline sponsor Continental Underfloor; Mark McGettigan, editor of Installer Magazine; Haimish Mead, marketing and communications director of Adey; Nancy Jonsson, commercial director of domestic heating & renewables of Daikin; Ian Kenny, marketing director of Graham Plumbers’ Merchant and Steve Keeton, technologies director of Vaillant Group UK.
The awards set out to discover the industry’s champions across different regions of the UK, by asking tradesmen and women to submit exemplary examples of work undertaken over the last 12 months. All regional winners will now be put forward to compete for the title of UK Heating Installer of the Year, which will be announced at Installer Live in May following an online public vote.
Those wishing to vote in the national heat should visit www.hi-awards-2016.org.uk. The deadline for votes is 5pm on April 30, 2016. Full terms and conditions can be found on the website.
