Ambion Heating has formed a new partnership with Mixergy to provide energy-efficient heating and hot water solutions for social housing providers and new-build developers.

A company statement said this collaboration will bring an effective low-carbon heating alternative to larger systems for smaller homes and multi-occupancy buildings by combining Mixergy’s grid-connected smart hot water cylinders with Ambion’s infrared heating technology.

Mixergy’s patented hot water solution offers smart controls and adaptable heating to only heat what the home needs, it noted, while Ambion’s algorithm-controlled systems spread heat demand evenly throughout the day, ensuring no usage spikes during peak hours. Both systems can also connect with solar PV and smart tariffs to further reduce costs and meet Future Homes Standards.

Andrew Keating, Mixergy’s chief commercial officer, said: “The need to embrace low-carbon ways to heat our homes is more critical than ever before. Ambion’s unique low-carbon heating system is revolutionising how we approach the decarbonisation of heat for flats and smaller homes.”

Oliver Baker, Ambion’s CEO, added: “Mixergy and Ambion are an ideal combination for homes, especially where properties can’t accommodate a heat pump. Both technologies are also ideal with solar PV, making them even more sustainable. We’re excited to be working with such an innovative company that shares our values in bringing low-carbon solutions to all house types.”
