Arctic Hayes supports Gas Safety Week

Gas Safety Week

As Gas Safety Week continues, Arctic Hayes has said that it is “throwing its full support behind the initiative”.

The event, which runs from 9 to 15 September, aims to remind gas engineers and installers to maintain high safety standards when working around gas. Arctic Hayes stated that it is using this opportunity to highlight the importance of personal safety and the critical role of effective alarm systems in safeguarding lives.

As part of Gas Safety Week, Arctic Hayes said it is giving away 10 personal CO alarms.

Lee Parsons, CEO of Arctic Hayes, said: “At Arctic Hayes, safety is at the core of everything we do. Gas Safety Week is a vital initiative, and we want to ensure that all professionals in the field are fully protected when they’re on the job. Carbon monoxide is an invisible killer, and the dangers associated with it cannot be overstated. That’s why we’re committed to providing high-quality, reliable safety products that protect both installers and the occupants of the properties they work in.

“Every installer should carry a personal CO alarm. It’s a small device that could save lives, including their own. We want to make sure that no professional is caught off guard by CO exposure while doing their job. It’s about ensuring that they go home safe at the end of the day.”

According to a company statement, Arctic Hayes is also dedicated to ensuring the safety of homeowners through its SleepSafe range of CO, smoke and heat alarms. The range is designed to provide early warnings in the event of fire or carbon monoxide leaks.

One of the key features of the SleepSafe range is its ability to link alarms together wirelessly, the statement added. In multi-occupied buildings, such as apartment complexes or houses in multiple occupation (HMOs), linked alarms are “crucial”, it noted. If a fire or CO leak occurs in one part of the building, all linked alarms will sound, ensuring that all occupants are alerted simultaneously.

Lee added: “In buildings with multiple occupants, the ability to link alarms can be the difference between life and death. It ensures that everyone is warned as soon as a threat is detected, providing critical time to evacuate safely. We strongly advocate for the installation of linked alarm systems in these environments to maximise safety.”
