The British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom Installation (BiKBBI) has confirmed a number of measures introduced to support its members throughout the Coronavirus situation.
The measures include a free three-month extension to memberships and the provision of a fee free Direct Debit option to help support cashflow.
The organisation has also introduced measures to assist members and their compliance obligations, to simplify how they update information during a time where other regulatory organisations, such as Gas Safe and the electrical bodies, may be experiencing challenges issuing formal documents to their members.
BiKBBI communications officer Anna-Marie Belton said: “Communication is critical right now, so in addition to the daily email updates linking them to the latest advice and support from both us and government, we have also introduced a new WhatsApp service that helps members connect with us and update their records.”
BiKBBI also announced that its recently launched campus will be offering free online training and development to installers throughout the period of social distancing. BiKBBI Campus is a new and innovative online learning and development platform that connects retailers and manufacturers with installers, which was unveiled at KBB in Birmingham earlier this month.
BiKBBI CEO Damian Walters added: “Now is not the time to sit and wait for normality to return. Now is the time to prepare for recovery and ensure, that when normality does return, that we’re in as strong a place as we could possibly be. The guidance we’re providing in communication is critical for immediate survival, but our members should be at home strengthening their own business propositions in readiness for a ‘fast start off the blocks’ when the time comes.”
KBBI Campus is available here.
