Carhartt has launched its new certified Interoperable Kneepads.
The company said the knee pads are ergonomically designed to flexibly fit around the knee and are certified to EN 14404-4:2024, helping to reduce injuries caused by continuous pressure and sharp objects when kneeling.
Made from lightweight polyethylene foam, it noted, they offer optimal pressure distribution while maintaining their shape, ensuring reliable protection throughout the workday.
In a virtual briefing last week, the company said that although the polyethylene foam itself is not a recycled material, the knee pads can be recycled up to 10 to 12 times when they are eventually disposed of. The product is manufactured three hours from the company’s warehouse in Germany, so there is a reduced amount of CO2 used in the transportation process.
The knee pads weigh 70g a piece and measure 248 x 18 x 150 mm. They fit into a range of Carhartt’s certified Steel Pants and other Carhartt workwear that has knee pad pockets. The company added that these kneepads are easy to insert and remove and can be handwashed.
