The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) was delighted by the enthusiastic and well-attended recent Student Dinner Awards.
Organised by the Kent branch of CIPHE and held at the Mercure Great Danes Hotel in Maidstone, Kent, the event saw around 220 including students, lecturers, sponsors and branch members attend.
Three students from each college received a prize, which were presented by the chief executive officer of the CIPHE, Kevin Wellman. The winner was given a prize of £150 in Amazon vouchers and the runners-up each received £100 in Amazon vouchers.
In his closing address, the CIPHE president, Terry Stephenson, emphasised the importance of an apprenticeship as a foundation to those entering the industry and a springboard to continual learning as their careers evolved. He went on to thank the sponsors of the evening, who also held an exhibition for attendees.
Along with prize ceremonies and inspirational speeches, guests also enjoyed a three-course dinner and were entertained by comedian and MC, Micki Travis.
