Cleaner Safer Group (CSG), parent company to HETAS and Woodsure, has appointed Michelle Yang Osorio to its board as non-executive director.
According to a company statement, Michelle is to work with the wider senior leadership team and executive board, offering insightful and impartial guidance on the CSG strategy.
She has 20 years of experience in strategic planning, financial management, transformation and change leadership. The statement added that she is set to provide expert direction and innovation to drive product and contract growth, help orchestrate positive digital progression, strengthen industry partnerships and bolster financial resilience.
Michelle said: “I am thrilled to be joining Cleaner Safer Group as non-executive director. I was instantly attracted to the organisation because of its extensive reach across the biomass industry, and its potential to drive significant change in moving our society towards a cleaner, safer and more sustainable environment.
“The biomass fuel sector has been under considerable pressure recently, with some undue negative press about its environmental credentials, yet it presents significant potential to generate renewable energy. The combination of this and the current global climate crisis places the industry at a critical crossroads. Now more than ever it needs a unified and positive voice with which it can educate consumers, industry stakeholders and government alike on best practice, whilst continuing to raise the standards of efficiency and sustainability.
“Cleaner Safer Group is in an excellent position to be that voice, and I am excited at the prospect of being a soundboard for the team and industry as a whole.”
Bruce Allen, CEO and director of Cleaner Safer Group, added: “CSG incorporates both HETAS and Woodsure. There are a variety of complex challenges associated with the solid fuel, wood and biomass sectors. In our search for a new non-executive director, we sought a strong, experienced and environmentally conscious leader – someone who not only understands the challenges facing the industry but can also provide clarity and certainty in navigating them. Equally important, we wanted someone who shares our organisation’s aspirations and commitment to working towards a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future.
“An independent, impartial and highly experienced professional, Michelle met all of those needs and more. Every one of our non-executive team has their particular strengths and specialisms, and we are delighted that Michelle will be adding to that with a vast wealth of public and private sector knowledge, taken from decades working for industry leading organisations. An excellent addition to an already strong executive team!”
