Daikin UK has opened its first Sustainable Home Centre in Essex in partnership with CB Heating, one of the region’s largest and most experienced air source heat pump installers.
The Centre allow homeowners to familiarise themselves with Daikin’s air source heat pump technology and sit down with an expert to discuss and agree the best solution for their home, before being partnered with a trusted local installer.
The showroom is part of CB Heating’s new ‘super centre’ facility in Clacton-on-Sea and is set to also house an 18,000 sq ft heat pump training centre – one of the largest in the UK.
The training delivered by Daikin and CB Heating will help local installers enhance the services they offer and ensure the long-term competitiveness of their businesses as fossil fuels are phased out. Installers can also access products and win new business leads through the Centre.
Clayton Browne, founder of CB Heating, said: “We’re in a key period of change, transforming how we heat our homes, as we move towards the government’s target to become net zero by 2050. Partnering with Daikin means we’re not only able to advise and support homeowners but also help train many more installers, creating new job opportunities and making our carbon reduction goals more achievable.”
Iain Bevan, commercial manager, heating & renewables at Daikin UK, added: “It’s important that homeowners who want to go green can access the best solution to meet their household’s heating and hot water needs. Being able to explore and discuss heat pump technology in person is vital, as is knowing that it will be installed by a highly-trained professional.
“Installer training is critical if we’re to meet the Committee on Climate Change’s target for 19 million heat pumps to be installed nationwide by 2050. To help get us there, industry estimates predict that 17,000 new heat pump installers will be required in the next decade. So, we’re proud to be supporting CB Heating in opening this important new addition to our network of Daikin Sustainable Home Centres.”
