Hamid Salimi, head of residential products at Daikin UK, has released a statement to mark 100 days of the new Labour government.
Hamid said: “The government’s commitment to achieving net zero remains firm and Daikin welcomes the ongoing funding support for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, as well as the planned ban on landlords renting out properties that do not meet an EPC ‘C’ rating by 2030.
“However, we urge the government to announce the details of its Warm Homes Plan at the earliest opportunity, as this will provide much needed clarity for both consumers and the industry.
“We also call on the government to take immediate steps to address the cost difference between gas and electricity, revisit the Clean Heat Market Mechanism, and lead efforts to educate consumers about the benefits of replacing polluting gas and oil boilers with heat pumps.”
