A digital portal has been launched to make it easier for MCS-certified heat pump installers to apply for the government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme funding.
Since 28 November, installers have been able to apply for the scheme on behalf of customers through a portal, where they can check the progress of their application and review any outstanding actions. Installers who have a Boiler Upgrade Scheme account with Ofgem will receive an email with login details in order to start using the portal.
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme provides government grants of up to £6,000 to support the installation of heat pumps and biomass boilers in homes and non-domestic buildings in England and Wales. The scheme is set to run until 2025 and supports in the government’s target to deploy 600,000 heat pumps a year by 2028.
