Drayton celebrates Made in Britain accreditation

Drayton said it is celebrating its recent Made in Britain accreditation as it enters its 75th year in business.

According to a statement, the Made in Britain Registered Trademark is designed to help consumers, buyers, specifiers and installers identify products made in the UK.

Alongside this accreditation, Schneider Electric, Drayton’s parent company, has been awarded for its “stellar sustainability credentials”, winning Most Sustainable Company of 2024, as named by TIME and Statista.

The statement added that, as part of Schneider’s global network of sustainable businesses, Drayton has placed great focus on creating sustainable manufacturing and operations at its Plymouth site, which has operated as Zero to Landfill, going “over and above” IOS14001, for the past nine years.

Drayton stated that effective energy management has reduced the carbon footprint of the Plymouth factory from over 600 tones to just under 50. This has been achieved through the purchase of 100% green energy, efficient gas heating and various other energy efficiency projects, it noted. This includes the introduction of a new variable-output air compressor and smart energy monitoring via EcoStruxure.

Additionally, the company said it is continuing to run Single Use Plastic initiatives, sourcing more sustainable alternatives for the production and packaging of its popular products.

Jeremy Palmer, general manager at Drayton, said: “Celebrating our 75th year with these significant milestones further establishes Drayton’s commitment to innovation. From reducing our carbon footprint to achieving our prestigious Made in Britain accreditation, we are so proud to be leading the way in sustainable manufacturing, and hopefully empowering households to become more energy efficient along the way too.

“With that, we want to say a big thank you to all the installers and customers that have supported us over the years.”
