Drayton showcases UK manufacturing to government minister

Drayton Controls has welcomed government minister and local MP Johnny Mercer to its Plymouth factory, showcasing its manufacturing as part of discussions on the future of UK home heating.

High on the agenda for Drayton general manager Jeremy Palmer were discussions on renewable heating solutions and the different legislations currently being discussed by government that will help to decarbonise heating in the UK.

This included the Boiler Standards & Efficiency consultation, which will expand the current Boiler Plus policy to include additional measures such as open protocols, as well as the Future Homes Standard.

Jeremy said: “Drayton products are made here in the UK for UK homes and we’re delighted to be showcasing the best of British manufacturing to Mr Mercer.

“We’re keen to see clarity on the future direction of UK home heating and the timescales for change. Equally, there is a real need to make homeowners more aware of how measures like heating controls and solutions such as auto-balancing TRVs can improve the energy efficiency of homes today. It was good to engage Mr Mercer in these conversations and to raise the profile of the role that heating controls can play in tackling the cost of living crisis and improving the energy efficiency of the UK’s housing stock.”
