The Holy Trinity Night Shelter in Bishop’s Stortford has reopened with a new heating system from Worcester Bosch and The Boiler Installation Specialists.

The shelter is the first recipient of one of 15 new boilers Worcester Bosch are giving away as part of a scheme to celebrate 15 years of the company receiving the Which? Best Buy endorsement.

The Holy Trinity Night Shelter in East Hertfordshire was nominated by The Boiler Installation Specialists. Worcester Bosch worked together with The Boiler Installation Specialists to provide the system.

The shelter operates from the end of November through to the end of March but has been working with an outdated heating system. A statement said that this installation will “significantly improve” the living conditions for the people who stay there and the volunteers and provide a “much more efficient heating solution”.

The refurbished shelter was officially re-opened by the Mayor of Bishop’s Stortford, Richard Townsend, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by volunteers, and representatives from Worcester Bosch and The Boiler Installation Specialists.

Carl Arntzen, CEO at Worcester Bosch, said: “We are delighted to provide the Holy Trinity Night Shelter with a brand new heating system and support their vital work in the local community. The shelter is a perfect example of the deserving community groups and individuals we’re aiming to help with the Which? 15 years scheme. We know winter can be a tough time for many so we’re happy to give back and work with our installers within their communities.”

Nina Warren, business manager at The Boiler Installation Specialists, added: “At The Boiler Installation Specialists Ltd, a family-run business based in Bishop’s Stortford, we are incredibly passionate about what we do and always strive to go the extra mile for our customers. We are immensely proud to partner with Worcester Bosch in donating a brand new heating system installation to the Holy Trinity Night Shelter, an amazing charity that serves our most vulnerable individuals. This warmth is not just about comfort; it’s about restoring hope and dignity for those in need. There is no prouder moment for us than delivering our installation expertise and putting a Worcester Bosch boiler to work, providing heat for every heart to feel like home.”

David Perry from Holy Trinity Night Shelter stated: “This literally came out of nowhere! The old heaters that were in place were designed for open spaces, and with the construction of the rooms, didn’t circulate the warmth at all. One of the things we do well is promote a feeling of belonging and warmth, and this new system will enhance that feeling. There are now radiators where our amazing volunteers sleep overnight, which will make such a huge difference to their comfort also.”

Worcester Bosch said it will continue to give away boilers until April 2025.
