Burner manufacturer and distributor, EOGB Energy Products, has appointed Andrew Cooke to undertake a three-year apprenticeship.
Andrew, 16, will start his apprenticeship by completing a NVQ Level 2 in Technical Services, which will be built around day to day activities such as design, CAD and manufacturing processes.
Alongside this, he will learn combustion theory and the basics of oil/gas domestic and commercial heating.
His next step will be to move on to NVQ Level 3 and complete his required oil and gas qualifications.
Andrew said: “I’m really excited to begin an apprenticeship at EOGB. The team are extremely knowledgeable and experienced and I know that training here will provide a very strong foundation for my future career in the industry.”
Paul Barritt, managing director, added: “Unfortunately, training for new entrants in the heating industry has gone into decline over the past decade, so we’re pleased to be doing our bit to support the next generation of skilled engineers.”
Andrew is the third apprentice to train at EOGB, following technical and training support engineer, Reece Summerfield, and trainee technical engineer, Harry Holmes.
