HETAS has now extended the scope of its installer competent person self-certification scheme to include plumbing and sanitary ware. This means that installers can self certify a shower or bathroom installation, or installation of a wholesome cold water supply.
The new categories of registration for plumbing include the installation of a shower or bathroom, installation of new taps, sink, washbasin, bidet, bath or other sanitary ware, replacement of shower, bath, sink, washbasin or other sanitary ware and installation of a wholesome cold water supply. Typical qualifications for registration with the scheme include an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating, and a Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) certificate.
HETAS is the only competent person scheme specialising in solid fuel and biomass, and the addition of a plumbing competency means registered installers can self certify a wider scope of work.
