Two new heat pump training courses are now available at Grant UK’s Training Academy.
The face-to-face courses include a new product training course on the new Aerona 290 heat pump range as well as a course dedicated to the basics of heat pump system design, with both courses available for bookings from September 2024.
The range of courses delivered by Grant UK’s Trainers at its Training Academy headquarters in Wiltshire and at other training venues located throughout England, Scotland and Wales, is expanding with the addition of two new courses launching this Autumn. The Aerona 290 Air Source Heat Pump installer course and the Grant Air Source Heat Pump System Design course are now open for bookings.
According to Grant UK, the Aerona 290 Air Source Heat Pump course is suited for installers, with the course including the construction and operation of the new Aerona 290 heat pump models. Alongside the specification and performance of the Aerona 290 units, this training course also covers the Aerona Smart heat pump system controller, electrical wiring, control system configuration, installation, commissioning and servicing as well as fault finding. The one day course, which combines theory learning with practical training, also covers safe practice and protective zones when working with R290 refrigerant.
Meanwhile, the Grant Air Source Heat Pump System Design course is also one day in duration and it provides domestic heating and renewable installers training on the basics of system design for Grant heat pumps. The content of this course has been taken from the previous Grant Aerona³ two day course and installers will learn about heat loss calculations, heat pump selection, emitter sizing and selection, pipe sizing and pressure loss calculation, system types, and sound level calculation for MCS020. The course purely focuses on system design and it includes worked examples for installers to transfer their theory learning into practice in the classroom, it noted.
Alongside these two new courses, there will also be a one day Grant Aerona³ Air Source Heat Pump installer course, based on the content of the previous Aerona³ 2-day course that will focus solely on the Aerona³ air source heat pump models. The course will cover the Aerona³ heat pump construction, principles of operation, electrical wiring, controller settings as well as installation, commissioning and servicing requirements.
Phil Stanley, training manager at Grant UK, said: “We hope our new heat pump training courses as well as the changes to our current Aerona³ heat pump course will be welcomed by installers and heating engineers. Installers can choose to attend the course or courses which are most relevant to them, either completing one of the 1-day courses or completing a combination of courses as they wish. Our intention has been to make our face-to-face heat pump training as flexible as possible, with installers given the choice to tailor their learning according to their requirements.”
