Jaga UK officially opened its new UK headquarters in Ledbury this week.
At a launch event, the company invited renewable energy installers, key suppliers and media to tour modern warehouse, office and training spaces.
Its facility has been newly fitted with four air source heat pumps and a ground source heat pump array, powering dozens of Jaga heating and cooling emitters.
Engineers will be invited to the Herefordshire HQ to complete training and become approved installers for renewables projects.
The company has made the move across Ledbury from a smaller location nearby, with owner and chief executive Jan Kriekels cutting the ribbon at Lower Road Trading Estate on Thursday 20 June.
Founded in Belgium 62 years ago, Jaga manufactures heating, cooling and ventilation solutions that work in tandem with heat pumps. Plans are also afoot for a new sustainable HQ in the Netherlands too.
Key products in Jaga’s product range include the slim Briza hybrid emitter – an alternative to the larger traditional radiator models recommended for heat pump installs.
Jan addressed guests by explaining how Jaga UK had originally been set up modestly using just a shed in the 1990s, and, even up until the iconic new HQ building appeared, people in the local area were often unaware of the company’s presence.
The new ‘Kriekels House’ has also been fitted with solar PV on the roof, making Jaga UK a carbon neutral company, Jan said, and reflecting the owner’s environmental priorities.
He told guests how more sustainable climate control has become a non-negotiable amid rising concentrations of greenhouse gases caused by burning fossil fuels.
“The point of no return [for climate change] is when you sit in the truck and you go uphill and then as you come down the hill you find you have no brakes,” Jan said. “We have to create technology to conquer this.”
