Nesta and The MCS Foundation have launched a new heat pump website for UK consumers, supported by Which UK? and the Energy Saving Trust.
A company statement said that the Get a Heat Pump platform addresses the gap in impartial and reliable advice for those looking to get a heat pump, by providing an end-to-end guide on how to transition to clean heat.
The website includes features such as: heat pump case studies, renovation tips, information on the cost of the installation process and resources on how to find a heat pump installer.
Transitioning from gas boilers to low-carbon heating systems such as heat pumps will be essential for the UK to reach its net zero goals, the statement added. But despite this, most people in the UK have never seen a heat pump, it noted, with less than 1% using heat pumps to heat their homes.
Previous research from Nesta has found high satisfaction amongst heat pump owners. It found that among people who have had a heat pump installed in their current home, 81% are as satisfied or more satisfied with heat pumps compared to their previous heating system. The figure is similar, 83%, when looking at heat pump owners in Victorian or older properties.
