OMNIE is to place benchmark performance information on all its underfloor heating (UFH) products from Autumn 2023.
The information is expected to provide customers with full and transparent disclosure on the efficiencies and heat outputs of its underfloor heating, including the renowned TorFloor 2 integrated floor deck system and the newly launched LowBoard 2 overlay system panels.
Brendan Hourican, OMNIE’s managing director, said: “For decades, while fossil fuels were relatively cheap, most British housing stock relied on a boiler/radiator pairing to meet owners’ heating needs. We’re now in a new era of heating our homes with clean, green fuels, which is driving the transition from boilers to heat pump technology.
“What’s important is that underfloor heating products pair effectively with heat pumps and absolutely minimise the amount of energy a building’s heating system requires to provide effective heat.
“All our systems optimise heat transfer from the water pipes, reducing the temperature of the water that is required for effective space heating, so they work brilliantly with heat pump technology.
“Unfortunately, there is a host of disinformation out there, which is often misleading and can be confusing. Our aim is to give people the facts, to help educate them on how these systems work and how to make the best use of them, to give them confidence to invest in new, better heating systems for their homes.
“For a start, we know that rapidly rising energy prices means that, for most of us, every kilowatt of heating must count and that also applies to renewable energy sources.
“We also know that there is no one-size-fits-all solution – every home is different – so we want to help homeowners make the right product choices for their project and for the planet.
“This aligns with other industry sectors, notably white goods, which have promoted their energy performance classification for some years now – a system which has been instrumental in delivering change.”
