Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions welcomed installers to its new training centre in Cardiff for an air-to-water training session.

The company launched its first HX Renewable Energy Demonstration Facility in December 2024. The site provides practical experience with Panasonic’s heating and cooling range.

Panasonic opened the new HVAC training centre in Cardiff, located within the site of its first 100% renewable energy operated factory. The company said this is part of its commitment to achieve virtually Net Zero CO2 emissions from its operations by 2030. The facility hosts product-focused courses and shares best practices with customers and sustainability-conscious businesses, it noted.

John Kellett, country manager for UK and Ireland for Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions, said: “Training is vital for the UK workforce and delivers the skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing economy. It also helps ensure high quality heat pump installations that are energy efficient and reliable in reducing carbon and energy costs. Our focus and commitment to carbon neutrality is crucial if we are to tackle the global challenge of climate change for future generations.”

Josh Elliott, plumbing and heating engineer at Westlink Mechanical, attended the training session and added: “In the global transition to air source heat pumps, I was looking to expand my knowledge on the heat pump product range offered by Panasonic. The session was very well led by the trainers who onboarded us with relevant product information including the efficiencies of the units. I look forward to attending the next training session available through the Pro Partner portal to learn more about the Panasonic range.”

According to Panasonic, its Aquarea accredited air to water heat pump training course “equips” installers with the knowledge required for heat pump technology on system design, installation and commissioning. Panasonic’s Pro Partner scheme offers ongoing support with design software, schematics, installation manuals and the latest product information and much more, it said.

Gareth Cole, director at Regmac Air Conditioning, said: “Coming from a background in air conditioning, I attended my first Panasonic air to water training to gain a comprehensive understanding of the latest systems available on the market. I intend to utilise the knowledge acquired to improve both my technical expertise and Regmac’s services.

“This will be applied either directly in collaboration with Panasonic as a partner or within Regmac to support the company’s growth and operational efficiency. This knowledge will be invaluable to my professional skills, particularly in the areas of system installation, commissioning, and fault diagnosis, which will ultimately benefit my company.”
