Pimlico has celebrated the achievements of its apprentices at its first Apprenticeship Awards.
Held at Langan’s Brasserie in Mayfair, Central London, the event recognised the crucial role apprenticeships play. Split into nine categories, plus one ultimate award of ‘Apprentice of the Year’, they were presented by Pimlico founder Charlie Mullins, far left, who himself began his career as a plumbing apprentice.
Scooping both Apprentice of Year and Most Presentable Apprentice was Callum Heath, a plumbing and heating apprentice who is in the fourth year of his training with the company.
He said: “I’m really happy, I can’t believe I’ve won Apprentice of the Year. My apprenticeship has given me a fantastic opportunity and, as I’m now nearing the end of my training, I’m looking forward to my future in the trade.”
Other awards included Office Apprentice of the Year, won by Lilli-Kite Banks, Best Customer Service of the Year, which was awarded to Phoebe Brooks, and Trade Apprentice of the Year, won by Mitchell Newcombe.
Also presented on the day was Best Engineer Feedback, received by Charlotte Muir, Best College Report of the Year, won by Stuart Mills and Rising Star, which was awarded to Evie Aldridge.
Pimlico also celebrated the work of two of its apprentices in promoting the benefits of vocational learning to other young people. Mechanic Abbie Rose was named Best Apprentice Representative of the Year with plumber Sophie Bateup named Apprentice Champion of the Year.
