Pipe Center and Climate Center, the commercial heating and cooling distributor, has launched a Hall of Fame to honour and celebrate long-serving staff, who have made a contribution to the company and industry.
The first recipients of the accolade include: Gordon Adams, Climate Center technical manager; Eamonn Phelan, Slough branch manager; Doug Forsdyke, City of London branch manager; Keith Voller, key account manager; Martyn Simpson, technical manager; and Pete Wardman, key account manager.
They were presented with an award and inaugurated into the Hall of Fame by managing director, Lee Jon Newman, at the company’s annual conference, held recently at Ricoh Arena.
Lee said: “We are incredibly fortunate at Pipe Center and Climate Center in having some of the industry’s best-known and respected people. They not only contribute a great deal to the development of our company, but are important industry figures in their own right, often with a life-time of service to the trade. Our new Pipe Center and Climate Center Hall of Fame is designed to honour and celebrate their achievements, and hold them up as examples for others to follow.”
The company is keen to retain and harness the knowledge and experience of long-serving staff, and operates a programme of knowledge transfer and coaching with key members of the team transitioning from frontline duties.
Long-serving industry stalwarts, such as Gordon Adams and Eamonn Phelan, for example, will continue to work in advisory and coaching roles following retirement from full-time duties, to ensure that their knowledge and experience is passed on to colleagues.
Lee added: “At the end of the day, our industry is all about people. We know what a transformational difference it makes having exceptional people on the team, and we will be making sure that experience is passed on and retained within the business, so we can build on it for the future.”
