Purdy Contracts announced that it has been ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘Installer Team of the Year’ category in the HPM Awards 2025. John Lord, Purdy’s managing director, commented on the achievement.
The HPM Awards, revealed across digital channels on February 14 2025, showcase the finest individual talent and industry innovation from across UK heating and plumbing. Selected by four expert judges from a competitive field of entries, this recognition highlights Purdy’s position among the very best in the industry.
Part of Kinovo plc, Purdy is a well-established mechanical, electrical, building services and renewable energy contractor with a track record spanning four decades. This commendation reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence across all aspects of our service delivery:
- Outstanding Customer Satisfaction: For the third consecutive year, we have achieved 99% customer satisfaction while supporting 600,000 people across our works.
- Innovation in Service Delivery: Our service innovations, including the “Find My Engineer” system. Through text communication and showing our engineers’ location on the way to their appointment, it dramatically improves our service efficiency and reduces the disappointment and cost of a missed appointment. Furthermore, it reduces unnecessary traffic and emissions if the appointment is re-arranged.
- Commitment to Sustainability: Thanks to our investment to become PAS 2030 accredited we are able to offer clients a one-stop-shop in the decarbonisation of their building stock. This includes a dedicated retrofit team, including Retrofit Coordinators, Assessors, and 25 up-skilled multi-trade engineers to help clients navigate the retrofit and decarbonisation challenge with a comprehensive approach to energy efficiency.
- Technical Excellence: Maintaining exceptional operational standards is vital to our success. We support this through comprehensive in-house training and development programs. In 2023, we achieved a 10% increase in staff educational learning and delivered 44 weeks of training. The 12% of our Engineering colleagues that are apprentices saw an 18% rise in hours delivered.
- Social Value Integration: To maintain collaborative relationships with housing associations, local authorities, schools, and residents and to facilitate the communication necessary to ensure successful delivery we carry out resident engagement days to highlight upcoming works and receive direct feedback.”
In addition our Social Value team supports client community initiatives and industry events. Group-wide, we contributed 1,066 volunteer hours to community causes including food banks and children’s charities.
Innovations in service delivery have also helped us better support our clients. By ensuring all engineers have sensible van stock we are now achieving 96% of repairs fixed on the first visit! And by smoothing routine heating servicing to prioritise during the summer months, we overcome the winter peak of heating repairs and emergencies, reducing the time our clients and their families are without hot water.
Purdy remains committed to clean energy contracting and continues investing in developing knowledge and expertise in renewable energy solutions for the future. This recognition from the HPM Awards reinforces our dedication to evolving our services to meet future challenges and exceed client expectations.
We extend our congratulations to all winners and nominees in this year’s fantastically well-contested HPM Awards, and we thank our clients and partners for their continued trust and support.
