Last month, 124 people divided among 37 decorated cars, gathered together in Dover for the start of a four-day VADO rally across Europe to raise money for the Rainy Day Trust.
Teams of four from across the builders’ and plumbers’ merchant sectors were challenged by VADO to buy a car for less than £500 and drive it through eight countries to Monte Carlo in four days, covering a total of 1,300 miles. Each team was set a fundraising target of £1,000 with a trophy awarded to the team that raised the most.
Everyone participating also had to wear fancy dress, with different themes and challenges to be completed each the day.
The event raised a total of £65,000 for the Rainy Day Trust.
