Samsung Climate Solutions has announced two new additions to the existing EHS heat pump line-up: the EHS ClimateHub and the EHS Hydro Unit, solutions for heating and domestic hot water for residential homes.

According to a company statement, the detachable AI Home 7-inch touch display makes monitoring and controlling these products easy and user-friendly. When connected to the home’s PV system and other devices via Samsung’s SmartThings app, the EHS ClimateHub and Hydro Unit enable users to efficiently manage and monitor their energy usage.

The compact design of the renewed ClimateHub and Hydro Unit makes them an easy fit for a variety of spaces, it said. Both products are suited for multi-unit houses and apartments, new-builds and retrofits. The dimensions of the ClimateHub Slim-Fit unit are 600x1850x598 mm, while the wall-mounted hydro unit is 530x840x350 mm. These specifications are comparable to those of standard kitchen cabinets and appliances such as washing machines. All the pipes are situated inside the unit.

The EHS ClimateHub and Hydro Unit are available in three versions, 2kW, 4kW and 6kW. Samsung said the improved defrost operating logic ensures that the water used for defrosting does not interfere with the heating function. The wider heating control range reduces the Thermo off time and improves overall efficiency and dependability, it added. Magnetic filters, 3-way valves and an expansion vessel are included as standard. The 2-zone models produce two zones without any additional equipment.

The company said the control box is easy to access and major components and internal pipes have a Quick Connector for easy release by hand. In addition, installers can adjust the Field Setting Values beforehand remotely on the Home Appliance Smart Service App or EHS Cloud instead of using an SD-card.

The EHS ClimateHub and Hydro Unit both have new Samsung Hot Water Cylinders that interact well with Samsung EHS outdoor units, it noted, and offer improved dependability and efficiency for heating and domestic hot water requirements. The company statement said that heating and hot water are always available, even in case of a delay or system error. Emergency mode is then automatically activated, and the ClimateHub or Hydro Unit switches to an electric heater to provide this. The emergency mode setting can be activated during installation via the menu setting on the AI Home display.

In addition, Samsung said the renew ClimateHub offers increased energy efficiency compared to previous models. The overall heat transfer area has been expanded by 23% and the domestic hot water efficiency has been increased from 115% to 148%. Due to triple insulation, the company noted that heat loss has also been reduced by up to 56%.
