Samsung has introduced its SmartThings Pro solution to the European market.
The introduction was part of the company’s presence at ISH Frankfurt, which took place from March 17 to 21.
Samsung said its SmartThings Pro solution is a translation to the business environment of the already existing domestic application SmartThings, designed to control devices and monitor energy usage.
Manuel Sanchez-Sanz, director of Pre-Sales, Business Development, Product Management at Samsung Electronics Air Conditioning Europe, said: “With the introduction of SmartThings Pro, business owners and site managers will be able to monitor and control climate control devices in commercial buildings. Ultimately, our goal is to improve overall business experiences and further improve our support to our B2B-customers.”
SmartThings Pro enables users to review the status of various IoT devices across different locations.
Manuel added: “We designed the dashboard using various adaptable widgets so that the site manager can personalise the platform according to the business’ needs, including 3D modelling to facilitate placement of the different devices on the floorplan. Furthermore, the platform is designed to detect inefficiencies across the network through real-time, intelligent data analysis and alert system administrators accordingly.”
The company said the software solution is equipped with intelligent cost saving algorithms. For example, the Pricing Response Control (PRC) algorithm adjusts energy usage based on variable electricity rates, it noted, aiming to use electricity during times when it is cheaper throughout the day. With this algorithm, SmartThings Pro is able to adjust operations through preheating, precooling and temperature settings depending on changes in electricity rates.
