Sudbury-based Specflue’s Christmas appeal is raising much-needed funds for Crisis, the UK national charity for single homeless people. This will be the second Christmas the company has raised money for this worthy charity.
Specflue will match donations of £13.04 from its customers to reserve a place for a homeless person at a Crisis centre.
A donation of £26.08 reserves one place, providing Christmas dinner; advice on housing, money and employment; healthcare and dental treatment; hairdressing and massage treatments, and safe accommodation.
Ian Sams, commercial director, said: “To donate online, customers are asked to add the item ‘CRISIS’ to their basket when placing an order at specfluestore.com – which can be found under the special offers category or by typing ‘CRISIS’ into the search bar.
“Alternatively, they are welcome to donate by phone. We simply request that they ask a member of our sales and technical team to add the item ‘CRISIS’ to their order. Finally, to donate by email/fax, our customers can write ‘CRISIS’ and the quantity they wish to donate on their order.”
Around 26,000 single people face homelessness on any given night in England due to a lack of affordable and accessible housing. The Crisis charity offers year-round education, employment, housing and well-being services from Crisis Skylight centres in London, Newcastle, Oxford, Edinburgh and Merseyside.
