The UK’s general builders and specialist tradespeople are risking their health by missing vital appointments due to work commitments, according to a new research report from Jewson.
The latest annual report summarises the views of more than 500 general builders and specialist tradespeople across the UK.
A quarter of people who took part in the research said they’ve actively skipped appointments or worry about booking a GP appointment, because they find it hard to take time off work.
The report revealed that 87% said they’re able to do their job better if they feel fitter. However, 40% said they struggle to find time to exercise, with 26% saying they don’t do any physical activity outside of working hours, and 29% said their job makes it hard to eat a healthy diet.
While 87% said they know it’s important to take care of your mental health, 40% said they find it hard to relax and unwind.
