Triton has highlighted an opportunity for installers to champion the environmental and financial benefits of energy efficient electric showers.
A recent survey of 2,000 consumers commissioned by the shower manufacturer found that less than half of respondents, 44%, consider electric models to be more energy efficient than other types of showers.
David Tutton, managing director at Triton Showers, said: “While electric showers offer an energy efficient way to heat and use water, our survey revealed that the majority of homeowners appear to be unaware of these important benefits. Paired with an overwhelming demand to reduce the cost of living and lower household impact on the environment, it’s apparent there is an opening for installers to raise awareness of the benefits of the category.
“As part of our commitment to providing solutions that offer a cleaner conscience, all of our electric showers are ‘A’ rated as well as around 96% efficient. This makes it easy for installers and consumers alike to choose a product that will save water, money and energy when installed and used correctly.”
Triton called on installers to highlight the potential positives when speaking to customers.
Triton’s research did reveal that consumers are already open to these types of discussions when choosing the best performing products for their homes. Around 62% of respondents agreed that every household has an important part to play in reducing energy and water consumption in the home.
In fact, reducing the cost of household bills, among 69%, and lowering impact on the environment, for 60%, were noted as the top two drivers linked to being more environmentally friendly.
