Shower manufacturer Triton has supported Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice in a nationwide cycle fundraising challenge.
The ’Tour de Zoës’ event saw the team cycle 270 miles over four days, beginning at Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice in Middlesbrough and travelling across the breadth of the country to Zoë’s Place Liverpool, before heading south for a triumphant finish at Zoë’s Place Coventry.
Triton contributed more than £10,500 to cover the cost of the event, including jerseys and t-shirts for everyone who took part. Employees at the business’ Nuneaton HQ raised a further £3,000 with a series of raffles that included items donated by the team.
Nurses continuing to provide support to families at Zoë’s Place Coventry also showed their commitment by cycling the 270-mile distance on static bikes during the tour, a statement added.
Zoë’s Place provides a lifeline to families with babies and infants suffering from life-limiting or threatening illnesses across the country.
Tina Simpson, marketing director at Triton Showers, said: “The support that Zoë’s Place provides to local communities is invaluable. Following a difficult period over the pandemic, which forced the charity to reduce its services, we knew how important it was to continue our ongoing partnership and sponsor ‘Tour de Zoës’.
“Seeing the grit and determination of the ‘Tour de Zoës’ team has been inspiring and we’re proud of each and every individual for completing the challenge.
“All of us at Triton have been behind the initiative, with employees at our Nuneaton HQ coming together to lead fundraising efforts to further support the charity. The team has already raised an additional £3,000 and there are plans in the pipeline to continue our support throughout the year ahead.”
Ian Carr, head of fundraising at Zoë’s Place, said: “Triton is a longstanding partner of the charity and we couldn’t be more grateful for the support that they provide, as without their generous donations, we simply wouldn’t be able to continue our vital services that help families most in need.
“We were blown away by Triton’s kind £10,500 sponsorship of ‘Tour de Zoës’, which not only helped the event run smoothly – but enabled it to go ahead at all. I’d like to thank Triton for their support, as well as everyone who took part and made the tour what it was.”
