TrustMark, a quality scheme for home improvements, has updated its Home Improvement App.
The company said that the latest update includes checklists to help ensure that customers have covered what’s needed at each stage of the project. There’s also information on Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs); Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs); Damp, Mould & Water Damage and Asbestos.
Content already on the app includes information on other energy efficiency measures like insulation, solar panels, heat pumps and double glazing, general repair and maintenance, kitchens and bathrooms, loft conversions, garden buildings, living spaces and garages.
The app was developed in collaboration with Great Britain’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE). It can be downloaded for free on Apple and Android devices.
Simon Ayers, TrustMark’s CEO, said: “When homeowners decide to make improvements to their property it’s an investment, not just in financial terms but also their time and faith in the tradespeople doing the work.
“By having information in their pockets, homeowners can easily check the questions to ask of tradespeople, how to ensure that work is carried out to the proper standards and quality, that protection is in place if something goes wrong and that work is done to the correct safety standards. Our App is a handy one-stop shop for all that.”
