Uponor has renamed its specialist installation business, formerly known as velta, to Uponor Building Energy (UBE), emphasising its ongoing focus on the commercial built environment. UBE provides a complete design, supply and installation service for the commercial building sector.
Uponor acquired velta in 2009, establishing itself as a provider of bespoke embedded heating and cooling solutions, which includes thermally activated building structures (TABS).
Lee Tebbatt, managing director at Uponor Building Energy, said:
“Uponor has a rich heritage in the commercial built environment, both here in the UK and in mainland Europe. The full integration of velta into the Uponor brand is testament to its continued success and that of the team who continue to develop heating and cooling solutions for a wide variety of iconic buildings. Now being seen as an integral part of the Uponor Group will provide the large company backing that is so essential when dealing with large construction schemes.”
In the last five years alone, the Uponor radiant heating system has been installed in the Olympic Velodrome, Birmingham Library as well as a number of other buildings such as schools and university campuses.
UBE has a dedicated team of experts providing comprehensive support from building design through to aftersales support.
Lee said:
“Pre-design and advice is an essential part of any building development, but heating and cooling can often be left to the last minute. With an increasing emphasis on Building Information Modelling within building design, it’s now easier than ever to include these systems at the design stage and our team is on hand to help make the process run as smoothly as possible.”
