TV carpenter Wayne Perrey has installed an Ideal Heating Logic Air heat pump in his newly-renovated 1930s family home.
Wayne is a regular on BBC One’s Morning Live and ITV1’s Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh. He praised “the simplicity of life” with an air source heat pump, noting how “little he has to think about it”.
According to a statement, his decision to upgrade his heating system aligns with the growing trend for greener heating solutions, as more than 42,000 UK homes have switched to heat pumps this year alone. The UK government’s target is to achieve 600,000 heat pump installations annually by 2028.
Wayne said: “When I bought this house, I knew it needed significant work. It had been well cared for, but it required a major upgrade.
“Part of that was replacing the heating system and I wanted to make the most sustainable choice. That’s why I opted for a heat pump.
“Life with an air source heat pump is really simple. We constantly walk round barefoot now, so it must be working.”
The installation was carried out by Dale Bellinger from Evolve Renewables, who explained the choice of Ideal Heating’s Logic Air.
Dale added: “We chose the Logic Air because it’s one of the quietest heat pumps on the market, which is crucial with it being installed outside the home. Additionally, it boasts excellent SCOP values, making it highly efficient.”
Lizzie Wilkinson, domestic product director at Ideal Heating, said: “Wayne has spoken about how he has taken a lot of advice from his installer. We’re committed to providing accredited training and product support to heating engineers, to ensure both installers and homeowners have a seamless experience with our products.
“We want homeowners to enjoy their heat pumps and feel confident in their decision to choose a sustainable heating solution.”
