According to Impey, sales figures from the past 12-months have revealed that the UK is trending towards more spacious size wetroom designs.

Impey reported that its large size Aqua-Dec Linear floor formers, launched one year ago, have already proved to be among its best-selling models.

In September 2023, Impey launched three larger sizes of its Aqua-Dec Linear range, with the aim of offering more versatile specification options for wetrooms with a bigger footprint.

The new sizes launched included Aqua-Dec Linear 2 1400mm x 900mm, Aqua-Dec Linear 4 2000mm x 1000mm and the Aqua-Dec Linear 4 2000mm x 1200mm. Impey said that the popularity of these “super-size” options has proved that homeowners are keen to embrace the space when it comes to wetroom design.

Impey noted that for larger rooms which have an unusual shape, the Aqua-Dec Linear 4 which measures 2000mm x 1200mm is also trimmable.

Martin Taylor, category manager at Impey (Coram UK), said: “Current research suggests that 60% of UK adults prefer a shower to a bath. For many, taking a shower has become a form of relaxation, with spa-style bathrooms gaining popularity year on year.

“We have noticed a significant uptick in the investment in larger, more spacious wetroom floor formers. Our large size wetroom decs are ideal for accommodating an open plan wetroom design in a shower room or ensuite, or for creating a larger wet area in a bathroom. We also recently launched our Aqua-Dec Linear 1 which has completed the range, making it the most adaptable and multifaceted product range for wetroom design.

“Just one year since its launch the Aqua-Dec Linear 2, measuring 1400mm x 900mm is already our 2nd best-selling linear dec across all of our options; proof that wetroom designs are getting bigger!”
