Alpha has appointed Kenny Henderson as renewable product manager for Scotland.
Kenny is to take the lead on developing the business’ presence in Scotland. A statement said he will be supporting customers on their own individual decarbonisation journeys, through encouraging the uptake of both heat pumps and hybrid heating systems. He will also work to upskill local installers to meet the increasing demand for renewable energy, it noted.
Beginning his career in the late 1990s as an apprentice gas engineer, Kenny moved into the renewables space 12 years ago. He joins Alpha from Gibson & Goold in Ayrshire where he was an operations manager in charge of 40 renewable engineers.
Kenny said: “My journey into the world of renewables was a bit accidental at first, having fallen into a role following a redundancy when I was a gas engineer. Fascinated immediately by the new technology that lay ahead and seeing how I could be part of the future of the heating industry has meant I’ve truly never looked back.
“I am delighted to have now taken another step in my renewables career, and starting this position with Alpha who are leading the charge on the uptake of heat pumps and hybrid solutions. I’m looking forward to the challenge of supporting the company’s growth in Scotland and working with the team to mirror the great work they’re already doing across the UK.”
Andrea Carmeli, managing director for Alpha, added: “We’re so pleased to have Kenny join the team. The incredible technical know-how and experience he brings with him will be crucial to showcasing our products to consumers, as well as making great ties with local Scottish installers to encourage them to upskill ahead of their competitors.
“We look forward to working with Kenny in this next stage of his career and seeing everything he can bring to Alpha.”
