Solar developer Conergy has announced the completion of its management team restructure in the UK; with industry heavyweight Paul Weaver and renewables finance and HR expert Lindsey Geraghty appointed as joint managing directors.
Formerly head of energy at infrastructure group Balfour Beatty, where he had responsibility for public and private sector renewable developments, Paul joined Conergy UK to launch the company’s dedicated rooftop division earlier this year.
Having managed large-scale solar projects he brings with him over 30 years’ construction experience and more than five years working in the PV sector.
Paul takes on the role alongside joint managing director, Lindsey Geraghty, who will continue to oversee the company’s HR, finance and administrative functions which has been her primary focus since joining the company in 2011.
The announcement, which comes as leaders from across the sector gather at this year’s Solar Energy UK conference at the NEC in Birmingham, is part of the Milton Keynes based businesses ‘ongoing commitment’ to the UK renewable market.
Paul Weaver, who is also managing director of Conergy West Sussex, said: “Whilst we are not blind to the challenges that face the industry at this time we remain as committed as ever to the deployment of solar across the UK, and to raising awareness of the importance of renewable energy from an economic and an environmental perspective.
“Our team of experts, from planning through to project management and maintenance, boast a wealth of experience within the sector; and with a number of significant rooftop and ground-mount projects entering various stages of development across the country we look forward to continuing to add to our existing portfolio over the coming months.”
The UK arm of the company, which has installed in excess of 277MW of solar systems with the capacity to power more than 83000 homes, is part of Conergy Worldwide, operating across 40 established and emerging markets including the United States, Germany and Brazil.
