SummitSkills has appointed Janet Shelley MBE as business development and skills manager.
Janet has already played a positive role in the industry over the years; primarily as founder of Women Builders, a pioneering training and building company that aimed to encourage more females into construction and building services. She was also an active chairman of SummitSkills’ Careers & Diversity Interest Group and in 2007 was awarded an MBE for services to construction.
At SummitSkills, Janet will not only manage skills projects, but will secure funding opportunities to support the employers that SummitSkills represents and its work on standards, qualifications and apprenticeships.
“I’m looking forward to forging relationships with our trade associations and partners to promote skills and standards,” said Janet. “Encouraging new entrants into the industry and workforce diversity are of particular interest to me, so I’m also keen to work with like-minded organisations to give these areas a boost.”
