The Building & Engineering Services Association has appointed Richard Ward to the new position of membership director.
Richard brings to his role a broad range of industry experience at senior level. His previous posts having included commercial directorships with air conditioning manufacturer Toshiba Carrier and refrigeration wholesaler HRP Group.
He also served as managing director of Holland Heating and, most recently, as sales director of air handling specialist Orange Climate Group.
B&ES chief executive, Paul McLaughlin, said: “Mr Ward will be assuming responsibility for member recruitment and retention, development of the Association’s member benefits and services package and the management of its nationwide regional management network.
“Richard joins us with an excellent track record in the sector and is clearly passionate about the Association, having begun his career as an engineering apprentice with a B&ES member company.
“Membership decline is a key issue for the Association at this time, and I am delighted that Richard will be tackling this key challenge head on.”
Richard confirmed that he looked forward to bringing his solid expertise in sales, marketing and customer relations management and his thorough understanding of building engineering services to the benefit of the Association and the sector.
“I am well aware of the key position B&ES occupies in delivering services of genuine commercial benefit and in representing the interests of its members, and am delighted to have this opportunity further to enhance and develop the value of membership in the context of today’s competitive marketplace,” Mr Ward added.
