The AmbiChipboard system is a unique combination of a structural flooring solutions, while incorporating underfloor heating. It consists of high-grade moisture-resistant tongue/grooved chipboard panels, that are pre-routered to take 12mm UFH pipework.
Pipework channels are routed typically at 150mm spacings, with multiple radius returns in each board and transit channels to facilitate installation.
Ambiente recommend the use of a 6mm ply (or cement-based alternative) to be laid over the system before laying the floor finish. This not only protects the exposed pipework, but also provides necessary stability to the routed board.
With no build-up to the floor height, this is a perfect solution in refurbishment projects, where floor-to-ceiling height is at a premium. The AmbiChipboard system also addresses the other challenge on older buildings, where the joist spacings are uneven – making a standard ‘plated’ UFH system impractical to install.
